Yep, why don't you tell that to the thousands of blacks who secretly came to Canada to escape slavery in the US. We Canadians do know thing or two about freedom. So learn your history before you badmouth Canada. Murat ... |

ok ... this is getting VERY off topic.
I agree that there should be an ingame way to report people who are obviously scamming, it would help eleviate a lot of problems. |

Anyway yes scammers need to be punished. My first time getting a run to Droknar, I waited and "LFG, runner to Droknar" for awhile and finally got invited into a group by a guy who was asking 1.5k for the trip. I told him I could only afford 500g which was true. Besides it all seemed a little fishy and I was being cautious. Of course as soon as we loaded into the game outside Beacon's Perch... he was gone. Luckly for me but unfortunatly for the others... I lost 500g while they lost 1.5k My guild leader was on the next day and ran me for free... WHEE!!! Anyway after seeing how hard the run was... offer to pay upon arrival, anyone who appreciates the run will pay and not scam simply because of how happy they should be someone could run them there... |

Think that can't happen? Before President Clinton, for the last hundred years, there was not a single 4 year period that did not have the U.S. invading some latin american country. One of the congressional republican leaders Rick Santorum recently tried to blame the priest molestation scandals on "liberal Boston", as if liberals were on record as aproving of child molesters, and as if the priests needed some republicans to tell them molesting children was wrong and couldn't figure that one out for themselves. The most horific part of his tirade is that not a single republican told him to shut up. We have Ann Coulter claiming on national television that being a liberal is treason, we have Karl Rove commiting crimes (and I for one consider exposing a cia agents identity to punish her husband to be true treason) and the president backing away from his promise to fire anyone was found to be responsible. We have war crimes commited by this administration, IN OUR NAMES. If you havn't actualy been anywhere, if you have no idea how much more or less free we are compared to the rest of the world, could you possibly wait until you have a bit more experience and knowledge before you spout off? Please? Service to your country would also be nice, and would set you apart from the vast majority of republicans, who talk the talk but almost never walk the walk. |

Getting back on topic...
If a person is selling Customized weapons and knows that another character cannot use them, it's an attempted Con. If the other person does not know they can't use it, it's liekly a successful con.
Federal and State laws have upheld that if a person is selling a product or service with a false pretense, it is ILLEGAL. Courts have upheld that just because the person didn't know it wasn't beneficial or why, does NOT take any blame away from the Con Artist. Read that twice if you responded on this thread with, "he should have known." Let's say you own a customized 44 Magnum. You go out and buy yourself an Uzi. If you advertise your magnum and don't tell potential buyers they won't be able to use it, that would be illegal. You would have to have a "For Collectors only" or "for Display Only" or "For salvage only" |

I'm not ranting. I'm pointing out that the argument that the buyer was just an idiot and gets what he/she deserved has never been and never will be valid. It is STILL the con artist that is to blame.

It's your own fault for beeing scammed. NCSoft & Arenanet cannot restore lost items under any substances. Regarding your Droknar run; 1. The game is ment to be played correct, not just rushing ppl. 2. If he/she says that he needs 6k for rushing you from to Droknar's Forge, don't trust them unless you know them. If it's your friend, tell him/her that you'll give him/her 3000 gold 2/4 of the way and the rest when you arrive. 3. If you ask me, I've never been rushed to Droknar before. 4. Play the game as it was ment to be played. 5. Good luck and have fun! |

I disagree on running. Although I`ve never been run anywhere because I like playing the game. people have been getting run from one place to another since the first E3. If Anet didn`t want it in game, they`ve had ample time to make adjustments. Maybe it`s something they don`t want but don`t see it as that big a distraction from game play.
As I see it, I think of someone who wants to be run like a pioneer. Pioneers hired others to take them across mountains and through ruff terrain that they wouldn`t have gotten through on their own or would of had great difficulty getting through. Sometimes they got in the middle of the wilderness and their guides turned their guns on them and took their gold. So frankly if you want to be run, get run. I don`t worry about it as it doesn`t effect my game play in the least. |

Personally i didnt use the service of runners for the first of my toons, i finished the game myself, with the help of friends and newly made friends along the way. By the time i got started with the third toon, finishing the game wasn't that important any more, i was more intrested in GvG, unlocking items, runes etc. so for the third and forth i did use runners, and all of them have been " running for tips" so even told me not to worry about it. So in regards of the acts of inscrupable people..... i dont agree with get rich quick gimics, money pyramids and such............ but there will always be Fox looking for a Chicken...........so just be carefull. And like in the movies just becuase the bad guy has been shot and is on the floor, u dont go and turn him over... u unload your gun in him, reload and unload the gun again.
so summing it up " be careful" |
